Task
Scale a $490 course past the point where Meta CPL alone made the funnel unprofitable
Solution
Rebuilt the funnel (webinar → tripwire → upsell), added Telegram Ads as the second paid leg, layered in AI-generated organic content for compounding reach
Approach
When we took over, Meta CPL was $18 and climbing. At that level, the funnel required a 36% attach rate on the upsell to break even — which wasn't happening. The single-channel dependency was the real problem.
We rebuilt the funnel in three layers: a free webinar for cold acquisition, a $49 tripwire that paid for its own traffic, and a $490 main course plus a $199 mentorship upsell for warm leads. This let each paid channel operate at a different ROAS target.
Telegram Ads became the second primary channel — lower CPM, higher intent audience in the RU/KZ market, no dependency on Meta's algorithm cycles. We added AI-generated SEO content (trading tutorials, analysis pieces) that now drives ~30% of signups organically.
At month 5, Meta CPL had dropped to $7 (better creative, better funnel structure) and Telegram brought in leads at $4.20. Combined ROAS: 4.1×.
